How to download your reports

The free check needs your ad reports as files. Here is where to find them.

Menus change. If a name below is not on your screen, look for the closest one.

For every platform, choose the last 30 to 60 days, break it down by day, and save as CSV.

Meta Ads Manager

  1. Open Ads Manager and sign in.
  2. Click Reports in the left menu, or use the Export button above the table.
  3. Set the dates to the last 30 to 60 days.
  4. Break the data down by Day.
  5. Export as CSV.

Also download your Activity history. It lists the changes made to your account. Find it in the account’s history or settings area, set the same dates, and export it.

Google Ads

  1. Open Google Ads and sign in.
  2. Click Reports in the left menu.
  3. Pick a table or report that shows cost by campaign.
  4. Set the dates to the last 30 to 60 days.
  5. Segment by Day.
  6. Click the download icon and choose .csv.

Also download your Change history. Look under Tools, then Change history. Set the same dates and download it as CSV.

Amazon Ads

  1. Open the Amazon Ads console and sign in.
  2. Go to Measurement & reporting, then Sponsored ads reports.
  3. Create a new report for your ad type.
  4. Set the dates to the last 30 to 60 days.
  5. Choose Daily for the time unit.
  6. Run the report and download it as CSV.

Amazon’s campaign history shows on screen only, so there is no file to download for it.

If you customize the report’s columns

The waste check reads the Search term report. If you pick its columns yourself, tick these.

Needed: Campaign Name, Customer Search Term, Targeting, Clicks, Spend, Orders (7 or 14 day), and Date (or Start Date and End Date).

Recommended: Campaign ID, Ad Group Name, Match Type, KENP Read, Country or Marketplace, Sales, and Currency.

If your books are in Kindle Unlimited, keep KENP Read (Kindle Edition Normalized Pages read). Without it, page reads don’t count as sales, and we mark sales-based findings too early to tell.

Ready?

Keep the files on your computer. You will add them on the next page.
